First of all, wow, that was a long drive! A good 4 1/2 hour journey from Leicester! It's a lovely part of the country though so I didn't mind at all. As it was so far away I stayed over in a place called Ecclefechan.
It really is a lovely part of the country to get married, everything around the area of gretna is so picturesque. The Mill Forge was my venue for this wedding. I played in the little function room at the rear, felt like a little barn, with beams etc. As the ceilings were so high it was so easy to get a great sound in there. http://www.themill.co.uk/
I played two sets in the evening for the newlyweds, as evening guests were arriving so from about 7:00pm - 9:00pm. As it was a relatively early start and I was playing their first dance I suggested that we waited until my final song rather than the first, all guests would then be up on the dance floor and it would go straight over to the DJ afterwards.
